Thank you for sharing the grief part- the feelings that bowl you over- when I try to express loss it just gets stuck in my throat - won't come out and it does not feel nice at all. It is difficult to watch Dexter getting old and funny-ish. I know that he will leave in another few years- I will never get another pooch, I tell myself.Linda Suehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03070050388987072100noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5123631695572626256.post-78891199942597932342013-01-10T15:50:07.248+00:002013-01-10T15:50:07.248+00:00Yes to everything you say here, including the bit ...Yes to everything you say here, including the bit about the Battersea Dogs' Home. I'd be a weepy, emotional wreck in a place like that.

This winter I've been having lots of moments where I'm grateful Reggie doesn't have to struggle with the snow & ice anymore. I remember the good times, but I also remember how hard he had it in the end. She travels well, very calm and mostly sits on the arm between us but sometimes goes into her safe place (her carrier behind her on the arm with the door open) when the traffic is freaking her out. Don't know if we'll ever get a dog again. We had a wonderful boxer and her death was very traumatic. Can't quite get past it.ellen abbotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00535475792150335186noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5123631695572626256.post-85002888973611158392013-01-10T14:27:43.623+00:002013-01-10T14:27:43.623+00:00You've described grief pretty accurately (alth...You've described grief pretty accurately (although I also still have moments of intense grief over my mom, 8 years later). There are so many worthy dogs just waiting for a new home in this world. Which one though is the question. I would have a hard time looking into all those eyes and choosing only one.Lynnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05875008154587045790noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5123631695572626256.post-19547698110775610232013-01-10T12:52:44.354+00:002013-01-10T12:52:44.354+00:00Yes.
