Today I put up a post which included a miniature version of The Angel of the North (ten times smaller) - installed in Canberra, Australia. Instantly recognisable. I gather from the literature at the gallery that the body of the angel was modelled on the artist himself.Elephant's Childhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06650565833097914052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5123631695572626256.post-3182319259881831562017-04-15T00:24:40.613+01:002017-04-15T00:24:40.613+01:00I saw the angel from a train

I too am intrigued by Gormley's work. When I was in Italy, I ran into a series of his sculptures scattered all over the town of San Gimignano. There was even one on top of one of it's famous towers. I can't begin to imagine what it took to make a sculpture of that magnitude or what it took to install it there. I'm surprised you didn't have a nice curry for dinner after seeing those two mysterious Indian Restaurants.Sharonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07645915869786296771noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5123631695572626256.post-19721725060405906952017-04-14T15:32:21.162+01:002017-04-14T15:32:21.162+01:00the angel is so impressive !
