Hot Stones
Just another garden shot, to show you what it looks like with the roses in bloom. We really do have an insane amount of vegetation out there at the moment!
Yesterday was hectic at work, with kids already trying to check out books for summer. Unfortunately that doesn't begin until today -- and I'm not there to help, since I'm out for my procedure this afternoon. So it will probably be a crazy day for my co-workers. I didn't immediately realize when my colonoscopy was scheduled that it was the first day of summer checkouts. Oh well.
I put together our Summer Reading displays and re-shelved several cartloads of books. And today I'm taking it easy and staying home until about 3 p.m., when I have to make my way to the clinic for my appointment. Back to normal this evening, thank goodness, and hopefully with a clean bill of health.
Here's an oddity I found on the sidewalk on my walk to work yesterday. I had no idea there was a special "massage stone heater" device for spas, though I guess it makes sense. You'd probably need something guaranteed not to overheat the stones, right? Never really thought about it.
Your garden is looking lush!
ReplyDeleteAll the best for today
Thank you and thank you!
DeleteGood Luck today!
ReplyDeleteThanks, e.
DeleteOoh, a massage stone heater. Just what I've always wanted.
ReplyDeleteWhat a coincidence -- me too!!
DeleteAh, that's where the hot massage stone comes from. I never knew. Good luck this afternoon.
ReplyDeleteI just never thought about it!
DeleteOoh, just plug that thing in and drop it in the bottom of the spa. Perfect! Your garden is an amazing place. I’ll be thinking good thoughts for you today. Glad the prep is over!
ReplyDeleteHa! Not sure it's THAT kind of spa heater.
DeleteI guess you have been drinking that horrible fluid to clean out your innards. Why they can't just give patients a good jetwashing from behind - I don't know. I hope all goes well. Just lie there and think of England... or in your case America AND England.
ReplyDeleteWell, it is kind of a jetwashing, from within!
DeleteThat's such a lovely shot of your garden - very summery.
ReplyDeleteI suppose massage stones could get too hot - rather unpleasant.
Exactly -- I guess that's why they need a special device.
DeleteThe actual process is the easiest part. I hope all goes well today.
ReplyDeleteAgreed -- it was much easier than the prep!
DeleteMy massage therapist had one of those stone things -- I was never that bg a fan of the stones. I AM a big fan of your garden -- it looks terrific. All good thoughts for today!
ReplyDeleteI've never had a hot stone massage. I don't really see the point, though I suppose the heat would feel good.
DeleteSending positive thoughts about the invasion.
ReplyDeleteI don't get that pot; just to heat stones????
Apparently! Just think, there's a factory somewhere cranking those things out. Talk about a niche market.

Olga has been getting lots of treats, don't you worry! Nowadays we basically just give her treats for existing. The bar has been lowered.
DeleteThat is something I never gave thought to, but it makes sense. You would need something with a pretty narrow temperature range. Good luck today. The new prep schedule is so much easier on the system. Your garden is beautiful. My little patch of dirt is making me happy, but I know that it will be years before anyone can call it 'lush'.
ReplyDeleteExactly! I could see how you'd need a special device. Our garden took several years to get to the lush stage. I think it's a bit TOO lush now.
DeleteThat pot looks like a crockpot, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteYou will be heading out soon to your appointment. You have been through the worst of it already as your prep is done. I hope it goes well and you get good results.
At first I thought it was a crock pot!
DeleteI literally thought that was a crockpot.... probably does the same thing though really. Just slap on a new sticker that says Massage Stone Heater & probably charge more
ReplyDeleteHa! Except it probably doesn't get as hot as a crockpot. Just a guess but I'd think you wouldn't want to get the stones that hot.
DeleteYour garden is looking so lush and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYes, the prep for a colonoscopy is the worst part because you are in la-la land for the scoping part! Hoping for a clean report!
Geez ... do people just drop their discards anywhere they feel like it?
Pretty much. The council charges for removal of items that don't fit in the bin, so people often dump them on the corner. (This pot would have fit in a bin, though -- I have no idea why it was on the sidewalk unless someone wanted to give it away.)
DeleteYes. I am thinking you are just about to head to the clinic. May all be well. And enjoy your supper.
ReplyDeleteMy Lord but your garden is a glory!
I'm boggling a little about the stone warming device. Why have I never really wondered how they heat those stones?
It makes me realize how much I probably never wonder about!
DeleteWow, the garden looks fantastic. Such a special place with all those blooms and all that green. It's a little slice of paradise. Good luck with the test.
ReplyDeleteIt is our little retreat, that's for sure.
DeleteThe end of the school year is an exciting time. Good that your school has a summer reading program.
ReplyDeleteEvery summer we do a major reading promotion. Fortunately most of it isn't my job -- I just put together the displays and help get the books ready.
DeleteThanks for sharing these everyday moments; it’s like a little peek into your life and work world. Hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteThank you, and welcome!
DeleteI thought that was a crockpot until I read your post! I hope by now the test is done, if not it will be soon. See you on the other side!
ReplyDeleteYes, I survived! All is well!
DeleteMy mani/pedi place uses hot stones so they must have one of these somewhere. They are often too hot though. I hope the colonoscopy goes well!
ReplyDeleteInteresting. I didn't realize they used stones on feet! I guess I've only seen pictures of them being used on people's backs.
DeleteThat looks like a slow cooker! Good luck with the procedure.
ReplyDeleteSlow-cooking for rocks!
DeleteReminds me of the hot wax machine at my father's nursing home - it kept the wax just the right temperature for arthritis treatments. There is a single-use gadget for innumerable items, I suspect! Hope the colonoscopy went without any hitches. I've just spent the day in the hospital too, having day surgery. Yay us, getting all our health issues tended to :)
ReplyDeleteWell, at least we are (hopefully) healthier now! I haven't heard of hot wax being used for arthritis.
