Cola Crisis

Someone's renovating this building on Abbey Road that I pass on my walk to work. It's looking a little bleak these days, stripped of its shrubbery and with those blue plastic patches.

Waterlogue to the rescue! Much cheerier!

I had the most peculiar day yesterday. In the afternoon I had an incredible sugar craving. I don't know where this came from -- it's really not normal for me at all. I tried to buy a cookie from the school cafeteria but they don't do cookies on Wednesdays. (Who knew?! And also, why?)

I wound up scrounging a Coca-Cola from the office refrigerator. I never drink cola. But it hit the spot. I think I might be wrestling a cold and my body wanted a little energy boost. Dave's had a cold for the past several days -- he sounds like Lauren Bacall -- so maybe I'm keeping the same bug at bay.

  1. Magnesium is used in the regulation of glucose, insulin, and the neurotransmitter dopamine; a deficiency can manifest in the form of intense sugar cravings, especially for chocolate. Zinc is needed for proper insulin and glucose utilization; a deficiency can also lead to sugar cravings.

  2. I hope you manage to avoid that cold! A cola every once in a while won't do you any harm. Take care.

  3. Two Lauren Bacalls in one house is not a good idea. Hopefully, you can avoid that fate...and the cold. Stay well.

    That watercolor app is awesome.

  5. I hope you shoo that bug away entirely. The watercolor is perfect. I also like that you captured a runner in front of the building. You are so good at catching the perfect pedestrians in your photos.

  6. I rarely get a hankering for something sweet. though now that I think about it last night I was dreaming about eating in a cafeteria of some sort and they put out some dessert and I got up before I was through to get a serving afraid that it would all be gone before I finished my dinner.

  8. Nice work on the watercolor. Every now and then I get a sugar urge too. Mostly for chocolate. I hope you don't catch the cold. You have a wonderful day, hugs, Edna B.

  10. I am a TOTAL sweet-aholic. Oh man - it's really bad. And now I shall just tell people that I'm coming down with a cold. (Although actually I might really be coming down with one. Sigh.).

LOVE the watercolorification of that photo!

  11. I hope you avoid the cold. My husband always brings colds home and then no matter how hard I try I end up with one too. He's a long-range sneezer and cougher :)

I'm not a watercolour fan but have to admit that building is much improved by that app!

  12. I can't believe you don't have emergency snacks stashed at work or in your edc. At least a couple of Clif bars in case you get stranded.

  13. You make renovation so easy! I love a Lauren Bacall voice. Hope everyone is now healthy. I haven’t had a craving for something sweet in nearly 15 minutes. That’s unusual from for ME.
