We interrupt this winter to bring you unseasonably tropical pictures of our orchids!
These plants are all on our dining room windowsill. There's something about that location -- the morning sunlight, the cooler temperatures (we don't keep the radiator on in the dining room) -- that the plants seem to like.
This one (above) is the most prolific bloomer at the moment. The others just have a few flowers and lots of buds. Peak blooming will probably come in another month or so, I'm guessing?
I'll give you an update when more flowers appear!

ReplyDeleteYou have to love an orchid! I have 4 in bloom at the moment and another 2 with spikes about to flower. They are draped with tiny lights ( that I couldn't bear to dispense with after Xmas) and they look so pretty in the evenings.
ReplyDeleteBloomin' orchids in your season just seem so wrong. Clearly the environment for them is good.
ReplyDeleteGlorious. Our one orchid just developed more buds while in bloom for a long time. Very pleased. But I've never had much success getting them to bloom year after year.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI think I've finally killed my last orchid.
ReplyDeleteSigh.

ReplyDeleteI love the first and last since I have a weakness for multi-colored flowers.
ReplyDeleteI have never had one bloom again. You're quite the orchid whisperer.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! You're a born Johnny Orchidseed!
ReplyDeleteOrchids are a very showy plant. I like looking for the wild orchids here.
