Late Night Thinking

I slept in this morning until 6:30. Pretty much unheard of for me. I'm going to be late for work if I don't get a move on.

I slept in because I went to bed a bit late and I woke up in the middle of the night, and lay awake for an hour and a half. I was thinking about my mom and the sale of our family home, and the fact that she's closing that sale and moving in two days. Also, I was thinking about how I have to place our drinks order for our Florida party in December and I've been dithering over when to call and what to get. I need to just do it.

There's nothing more boring than lying awake stewing about things at 3 a.m. So rather than talk about that, let's look at pictures of autumnal wood.

Dave and I watched the last episode of "Downton Abbey" last night. It certainly was a fast-moving conclusion, and while it didn't quite wrap everything up in a tidy bow, at least we're left with a sense of an ending. (To borrow a phrase from Julian Barnes.)

I'm kind of glad it's over, honestly. I've been feeling for a while that Downton had run its course. I'll miss Maggie Smith, though.

I normally sleep like a log but co-incidentally last night I also woke in the early hours worrying about a family matter. Your house in Pasco County was/is a beautiful construction and I can understand why the sale has left a certain emptiness inside you. Regarding "Downton Abbey" I am proud to say I haven't watched a single episode.

Your photos today are very abstract. I like them. I know that sleepless feeling. I've been having similar middle of the night episodes. I hate that when it happens. Our Downton Abbey won't start until January so I guess I'll have to wait to see what happens. Our local PBS station is playing a lot of teasers now.

I watched the last episode of Orange Is the New Black last night. I will miss it. I have come to love some of those women.
Nothing worse than the late-night/early-morning insomnia. Ugh. May it pass.

What's worse about late night stewing is that you can't actually DO anything about it - even if you come up with a brilliant plan, it has to wait until morning (when it will probably not seem all that brilliant - ha!).

Love the abstract wood!

planning a wedding party is monumental, difficult to turn brain to slower speed. I am grateful I do not have that problem, if there is one thing I am good at it is sleeping! Your party will be amazing no matter what, just to have the folks who love you two in the same local wishing you the very best will be enough!I am smitten with the top photo, Would love to paint it or felt it. New studio so it could very well happen. I also want to paint the photo I took of you on your floor, it is sublime!
