Mysterious Message
While in the city on co-op business, I found this knitted panel lashed to a tree on E. 31st Street. Any ideas what it could mean? Google turns up nothing, so I suspect the knitter was in a metaphysical mood.
there seems to be a trend going around, kind of a knitted guerrilla art project....where trees, poles, parking meters are wrapped with little knitted pieces of art.... have seen a couple with 'messages' but most just colorful yarns
I too have seen several posts about things being knitted around trees in the middle of the night. I wonder what this is all about. It seems like these knitters owe us an explanation, yes?
Thanks for the link, Wendy! I've seen knitted street art around the city, usually attributed to Knitta Please, but I've never seen any with words. That's what made this piece stand out!
