Because my memory is so bad, I keep a list of all the books I read. This helps me remember books that I might otherwise forget, and if I’m in doubt about whether I’ve read something, I can go back and check.

I read about ten books one year and decided I was reading too much.
your list makes my head swim.
We share only one book...Moby Dick....great book, tough read.

oh, I have read "The Collected works of Ducrot Pepys" which may be related to Samueal...if you squint your brain just right.

Barbara: It's always hard to pick favorites, but from this list I really liked "Dry," "Then We Came to the End," "The Devil in the White City," "Paris to the Moon" and "The Snow Leopard." (In fact, "The Snow Leopard" is probably one of my all-time favorite books.)

The classics were terrific, too.

I would emphatically NOT recommend a couple of these books: "The Boy Harlequin" and "Days in the Sun" were both bad, and "Sex With Strangers" is possibly the worst book I've ever read.

Got it! I will definitely look for Snow Leopard.

Here is the website for our couples book club. I have read all these books, with the exception of Songlines, which I could just never get into.

great fun reading your list, I've read many of the books - however some I read many, many years ago.... but re the list you MUST read the rest of the ann benson books - plague tales was just the first in a 4 book series!!! book three you don't think is part of the series (the thief of souls) but when you read book 4, it is apparent that it is!!

alexander mccall smith - has a few wonderful series - my favorite ones are actually the two set in scotland - maybe it's because he is scottish and the setting seems more authentic - although I do like the precious books....

great seeing you last night!

read on!!

I have read your list - and 16 of the titles on it (thanks to Augusten). Who knew there was a book about Vivian Vance?! I'll have to check that one out.

What, no Harry Potter?

I attempted to keep a list of books I read but I am just not a list kind of guy. I figure if it is important enough I'll remember it.
