Back Ups and Check Ups

Is it my imagination or has Blogger been acting weird lately? I'm having trouble uploading photos and for some reason, my cursor has disappeared entirely when I'm writing posts. I never know where I am on the page. I suppose it could have something to do with my browser (Safari) or my internet connection (bad, but better than it was before we moved the router into the living room).

Just the other day someone was telling me my pictures wouldn't load when they viewed my blog. Once again: Weird.

It's a bit disconcerting to think that all this time I spend blogging could be wiped out in one failure of Google's servers. Flickr, where I store my photos, has recently freaked out some members by locking them out of their accounts and assigning them new logins, where -- surprise! -- their pictures are all gone. (I'm sure the pictures are still out there somewhere, but still, what a shock!) Presumably there are redundancies built in to all these systems, but sometimes I wonder if I shouldn't get one of those blog books made to keep my posts the old-fashioned way. (Probably more than one blog book at this point.)

But no. I'm trying to get away from paper, after all.

I should at least back up the blog electronically, but the last time I did that, the "export" option was uncomfortably close to the "delete blog" option, and I was terrified I would mistakenly delete it. Maybe that's no longer true. I'll check it out.

Olga and I, once again, are still in bed. I don't have to go in to work until later because I have a doctor's appointment. I went through a spell last week where I wasn't feeling so hot, and although things seem to have improved slightly this week, I figured I should get checked out. I haven't been to the doctor in a while -- I think it's been four years since I've had any kind of blood test -- so it's time. At least it buys me an easy morning!

Good old Blogger!

I blame Google for everything that goes haywire on my blog - even when I know I am the one to blame.

I spotted your "Young Hunks" 2015 calendar in the bin! By the way, I have not been encountering any problems with Blogger - either posting myself or perusing other people's blogs. Oh and I knew nothing about blog books - thanks for the heads up. I shall investigate that.

Blogger has been fine for me. Have you tried using Chrome as a browser? I like it.
I hope all goes well at the doctor. This is how bad my medical anxiety is- even reading about YOU going to the doctor all the way across the ocean makes me a bit anxious.
That is not normal.
I'm proud of you for going.

I haven't had any trouble with Blogger but then I don't compose in Blogger. I copy and paste and then add the pictures. You might try switching your browser. I use Chrome. Tried Firefox but didn't like it. I get PDFs of my years from blog2pring.com. they send it electronically and it only cost a couple of $. I would like to get them printed out and bound too eventually.

We both have dumpsters on our sites today and they both have eye catching art work. ;-)
I had some trouble uploading photos a few weeks ago but it's better now but, that cursor thing drives me nuts. I can't imagine why it disappears like that. I've thought about downloading Chrome on to my Mac but haven't done it yet. I use Chrome at work and it seems to work better than any browser I've used.

I use Firefox and have had no problems in Blogger and no issues seeing your photos. The times we've had problems reading websites it has always turned out to be that updates need installing, or that installing updates has led to issues. Damned if you do, damned if you don't! You've reminded me that I was going to start storing my posts in Windows documents on our computer (new - and first - blog!)

Every once in awhile blogger has issues. It always seems to correct itself in due time.I better check my Flickr account. I do have my pictures elsewhere.

I am having the same issues. my cursor has completely disappeared too, tho it did this a good while ago now. i had backed up a good portion of my blog over at wordpress, but then the export button for blogger stopped working. I think in terms of this blogger books too. It would be awful to lose the whole record here.

Me, too, as you know. I use Chrome, so I guess it's not the browser. I used to order those blogger books, but I stopped years ago, and now I have over 5,000 posts so the idea of getting a permanent record is daunting.
